10/9/18: The Galaxy S10?will reportedly be Samsung’s "most expensive" smartphone yet, thanks to its added 5G tech.
“We named the scanner Calibry because the device is small and fast like a hummingbird which is also known as Colibri,”?said Anna Zevelyov, CEO of Thor3D, “We also intentionally called it ‘cAlibry’ instead of ‘cOlibri’, because it echoes the word ‘calibrated’, meaning precise and accurate.”
The hands-on picture shows that, if legit, the Galaxy S10 could adopt a full-screen design similar to that seen on the Oppo Find X – which would give it a 93 per cent-ish screen-to-body ratio, up from the 83.6 per cent ratio found on the Galaxy S8 and S9.
In any other manufacturing process (aside from milling), each new part or change in part design requires a new tool, mold, die, or jig to be manufactured in order for said new part to be created. With 3D printing, the design can be fed into a slicer software, any needed supports added, and then printed with little to no change whatsoever in the physical machinery or equipment.
Despite being the exact system when it came to functionality, the Family Computer and the Nintendo Entertainment System have very different designs. Although the Famicom came out almost three full years in Japan before the NES was available in the States, the design actually got a lot clunkier in that amount of time.
3D printing is already changing the world in remarkable ways, and it’s easy to understand why filmmakers are utilizing this futuristic technology. Whether it’s adding an element of futurism to the set, or merely characterizing the film’s tech-guru, seeing 3D printers on the big screen is inspirational, and it’s likely to propel the technology into a new and exciting direction.
Often these will be much better and easier to use. They will require 3D file knowledge to operate however and be more finicky than other things that you would buy at this price point.
