Nintendo released its Famicom 3D System in 1987, which was a clunky headset that allowed certain games to be displayed in 3D. Of course, the technology just wasn’t there yet, and only a handful of games were made compatible with the 3D System. The headset never made it beyond the Japanese market for Nintendo, but that didn’t stop Sega from trying a hand at their own 3D headset shortly thereafter.
12/3/19:?Galaxy S10 users have been quick to discover that its face unlock feature can be easily fooled. As shown by?Unbox Therapy (below) and?The Verge, the camera-based scanner – which lacks the 3D-mapping functionality of Apple’s Face ID – will happily unlock the device using a video of the owner, while?security researcher?Jane Manchun Wong was able to unlock her brother’s device using her own face because of?family resemblance.
Speedernet Sphere is designed for larger companies, including design and engineering firms, looking to create interactive 360° virtual reality content in-house. Its visual, intuitive interface allows users to compose creations in drag-and-drop fashion without writing code.
Gizmodo also has the skinny know how much?the device will cost; the so-called ‘budget’ model?will offer 12GB storage and retail?for £699, the regular S10 will offer 128GB or 512GB storage for £799 and £999, respectively, and the S10 Plus will offer 128GB, 512GB and 1TB variants priced at £899, £1,099 and an eye-watering £1,399.?
Doob3D – A 3D scanning and printing company whose main business is to sell 3D printed figurines of clients in their preferred outfits and poses. They also offer a “digital avatar” service where they will scan you in an “a-pose” and give you a fully ready to use rigged and animated model of yourself. As a bonus, they’ll even cut out the eyeballs of your model so they can be independently animated. For those privileged enough to afford the service ($550) and visit one of their locations, this is the easiest option that provides the highest level of realism.

Meanwhile, BMW had been testing 3D Systems’ new 3-D printers and wanted to change the printers’ specs, Langer recalls, but couldn’t get the American firm to reconfigure them. (BMW and 3D Systems declined to comment.) When Langer learned this from his BMW contact, he pounced. He asked the contact if BMW would give him the budget, 50% payable upfront, to design a 3-D printer in 12 months. “He said, ‘But you cannot deliver. You don’t have the people, you don’t have anything, you don’t even have a drawing,’ I said, ‘This is a bet. We do not,’” Langer recalls.?
Langer has positioned EOS perfectly to capture this demand. He was an early believer that 3-D printing could be used for more than just prototyping, one of its earliest uses in industry, and today EOS’s machines, which have a base price as high as $1.6 million, fill factory floors at Boeing, BMW and Siemens. It adds up. EOS Group (which includes 3-D printing company EOS GmbH and related businesses) has sales of $400 million, operating profit margins above 10% at a time when many 3-D printing companies are in the red, and, most years, double-digit revenue growth. In addition to the 3-D printing business, Langer has created an ecosystem of companies in related industries, such as coatings and scanning systems for lasers, that positions his group for future growth.
The head scan of a live model was also tricky to complete, due to fine features like hair. For the completion of the scan we asked our volunteer to wear a hood. The overall shape and key features of the face were captured well.
Julian Berlow?studied physics with a specialization of solid state physics and optics. He worked as a team leader in R&D at BMW group and Quiss AG. Julian has made optics instruments, optical 3D inspection systems and has done additional work in image processing. His extensive very specialized experience all came together to allow him to make a discovery in 2015 in the field of?Polarization 3D Scanning. He subsequently patented this discovery and has been working to turn it into a product since 2017. In addition to four hardware prototypes and countless software revisions, the team has reached out to the hardware community. Julian, now joined by eight others to help him interviewed over 200 community members at Maker Faires to discover their needs. This lead them to focus on an independent pocketable handheld device. This device was improved numerous times and additional patents were filed. Now the Scoobe3D team is ready to unveil the Scoobe3D to the world.
The big saving grace for Samsung is that Xiaomi phones are not sold in Samsung’s two top markets (South Korea and North America), and the U.S. government’s public campaign to convince the world not to trust Huawei/China?has probably convinced some to stay away from all Chinese tech brands. So for those who live in North America or South Korea, and those who?have been scared off Chinese products, the Samsung Galaxy S10 has little to no competition right now in the Android space. It is the most?powerful, feature-packed phone on the market right now, and relative to other options available, not too unreasonably priced. LG’s upcoming G8 could rival the S10 in terms of overall greatness, but it has?that outdated notch design and is not on sale yet.
Hey! This little isopod looks surprisingly good. This design was made to be printed without much fuss and the A6 delivers.
